I wrote a short film, “Super Special.” The video above is one scene from the short film. This is a story about a group of friends who teach Alan, a person with Asperger’s Syndrome, about friendship, love, and forgiveness. Apparently, Alan is a savant who has the ability to emulate things he sees on T.V. Imagine what could be emulated after watching Bruce Lee’s Enter the Dragon, or a Mike Tyson championship fight, circa 1988. Supposedly, this “power” is only activated when hearing a certain song, Jermain Stewart’s “We Don’t Have to Take Our Clothes Off.”
It was the greatest feeling being able to work with all of our friends. Tomek Fior is a wonderful performer and musician who is in the scene. I wrote everyone’s lines, except Tomek’s improvised lines were 100 times better.
David Dodds really was the first friend I made in LA. And he brings the party! Also, he is an amazing animator and artist. His demo real is tremendous. Please check out his website. Also, Joshua Yeargain really is a firestorm on the piano and there is a part in the short that specifically showcases his talent, unfortunately, we haven’t filmed it yet.
